School Community
Lutheran Primary School acknowledges that parents have responsibility for and are the first educators of their children. Parents and family, in the home environment, strongly influence what and how children learn.
Effective interaction between school and parents is all important.
The School will:
- Endeavour to communicate clearly to parents what it accepts as its responsibility.
- Require active interest and support of the parents, and
- Maximise opportunity for parental involvement.
Parents can support the School through:
- Encouraging their children to behave in line with the School’s Behaviour Management Policy and the Christian ethos of the school.
- Providing a learning environment at home, which encourages the completion of homework and good study skills.
- Supporting school activities and function.
- Approaching class teacher, Principal or Deputy Principal with concerns regarding their child’s school life.
- Promoting a positive image of Lutheran Primary School and directing criticisms to the appropriate person.
- Supporting staff and parent volunteers in the provision of extra-curricular activities.
