School Curriculum

The School follows a curriculum set by the NSW Board of Studies, with an emphasis on numeracy and literacy development.

The Key Learning Areas are:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Person Development, Health and PE
  • Human Society and It’s Environment
  • Creative and Practical Arts
  • Science and Technology

In addition Christian Studies is taught as part of the School curriculum.

Our School aims to support the learning of our students with the provision of Learning Support teaching staff, a well-resourced library and the provision of computers in the classroom and Computer Lab.

Learning Support Teachers work with classroom teachers and students to provide activities adapted to support a range of abilities and learning styles. Focus areas include:

  • Gifted and Talented programs
  • Enrichment groups
  • L.O.T.E. (German in Years 3-6)
  • Special Education
    • Small group instruction in literacy and numeracy
    • Special needs students
    • Social skills
  • Information Technology
  • Library
    • Research skills
    • Reading for pleasure
  • Music
    • Kindergarten to Year 2
    • Junior and senior choir
    • Chapel and singing groups

During the year sporting activities are also included in the School’s program including:

  • Gymnastics Kindergarten to Year 2
  • Swimming Kindergarten to Year 2
  • Sporting Carnivals for Athletics, Cross Country, Swimming, AFL, Rugby and Hockey.

The School manages sports teams for cricket and and netball. Students are encouraged to play sport and be involved in School teams, thereby learning the benefits of team play. Links with community teams for softball/t-ball and hockey/minkey also provide sporting options for students.

Speech and Drama is available as private lessons during school hours.

Students are able to learn a wide range of instruments privately through the Riverina Conservatorium of Music during the school day. Music is also a strong feature of the School’s worship and devotion program.
